Folake (a prequel)

Mara took her blind friend’s mirror, she thought he wouldn’t mind if she borrowed it for her new place, after all what was he using a mirror for? The mirror was tall, with human size dimensions, just what she needed.

Later, she called him, jokingly telling him about breaking the mirror. That night, there was a knock on her door. It was her friend. Before opening the door, she asked him why he was back from his trip so soon and told him that if he was there for the mirror she wasn’t going to give it back.

When she opened the door, he was about to reply her but he paused. He shifted his gaze which was formerly towards the door directly to her face, almost as if he could see her. “Folake”, he said, tilting his head with a strange smile, “Folake, my best friend.”
